FAQ
Repossessed cars in India: your questions answered
How bank repossession works, what you get, and how transfer and financing happen on Turag, in plain language.
Buying repossessed cars
Is it safe to buy a repossessed car?
It can be, if you know what you are buying. The risk with a repossessed car is usually missing information: unclear papers, unknown history or hidden condition problems. On Turag, every car is verified by the bank or NBFC that repossessed it, checked against five record sources and inspected before listing, so you see the evidence first.
What is the difference between a repossessed car and a regular used car?
A repossessed car is a used car that a bank or NBFC took back after the loan was not repaid. The lender, not a private owner, sells it. Otherwise it is a used car like any other, which is why checking its records and condition matters.
Are repossessed cars cheaper?
Sometimes, but not always. Lenders sell repossessed cars to recover a loan, which can mean more competitive prices, but the right price still depends on the car's condition and history. Turag Fair Value shows the market range for each car so you can judge the price.
How do I buy a bank repossessed car in India?
On Turag, search the marketplace, read the Turag Summary for the car, arrange financing if you need it, complete the purchase and arrange pickup. See the full process on our How it works page.
Papers and RC transfer
How does RC transfer work for a repossessed car?
After the sale, the registration certificate (RC) is transferred into your name. Turag guides you through the documents the lender and the RTO need.
Will I get the car's original documents?
Yes. The lender provides the documents needed for the transfer as part of the sale.
Financing a repossessed car
Can I get a loan for a repossessed car?
Yes. Financing is available on Turag if you need it. Approval and terms depend on the lender.
Inspection and valuation
What does a Turag inspection cover?
Documents, history and condition. A Turag inspector, supported by self-inspection AI, logs every finding in about 45 minutes. See what we check on the Book an inspection page.
What is Turag Fair Value?
It is Turag's data-driven price range for a car, with the factors that push the price up and pull it down, backed by records and inspection.
Account and pickup
Do I need an account to buy on Turag?
Yes. You need a free, phone-verified Turag account to buy, sell or value a car. No card is required to join.
Do you deliver outside Pune?
Yes. Pickup is available across India.
